’Imper Chair’ is a chair combining art and design in a simple and sharp shape, creating contrast and volume.
The chair is shaped after the picture of a solid box, cut to make room for the body – without compromising the box as a sculptural object.
The height of armrest and the back rest follow each other, in comfortable sitting height, and the back is angled to accommodate comfort and lighting in relation to the shimmering shiny lacquer finish.
The chair is produced in three versions: one lacquered in two-component auto lacquer, in the colors white and dark blue, and one in a transparent clear lacquer on plywood.
Imper offers associations to an empire with a desire to expand (hence the title). It colonizes the room and demands space, while giving the user a feeling of being on a throne.
